Job summary

Enbridge is hiring a Pipeline Maintenance Technician I to safeguard environmental health, support pipeline reliability, and serve communities across North America. This role emphasizes safety procedures, regulatory compliance, and teamwork in field operations with occasional travel and on-call responsibilities.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, 1–2 years in operations or maintenance, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain operator qualifications and safety

  • 1–2 years of operations or maintenance experience in a crude oil pipeline, tank farm, industrial facility, or related environment.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required operator qualifications and safety training.
  • Ability to wear respiratory protection equipment, including SCBA and full-face respirators.
  • Must be able to reside within 25 miles of the reporting location, unless otherwise approved.

Responsibilities

  • Support safe operation, maintenance, and repair of pipeline and facility equipment per safety procedures and regulations.
  • Perform pipeline maintenance, repairs, emergency response, and pigging to ensure safe, reliable operation.
  • Inspect, operate, and maintain PLM tools, equipment, vehicles, trailers, and emergency resources.
  • Complete required training and maintain qualifications to work independently and assist less experienced teammates.
  • Issue work permits and oversee contract work activities as needed.
  • Respond to leaks, spills, and abnormal right-of-way conditions with containment, repair, and cleanup.
  • Uphold safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; participate in rotating on-call.
  • Complete work orders, timesheets, logs, and documentation accurately and on time.

What You Will Do:
  • Support the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of pipeline and facility equipment while adhering to all company safety procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform pipeline maintenance, repairs, emergency response activities, and pigging operations to support the safe and reliable operation of pipeline systems.

  • Inspect, operate, and maintain specialized PLM tools, equipment, vehicles, trailers, and emergency response resources.

  • Complete required training and maintain operator qualifications to safely perform work independently and support less experienced team members when needed.

  • Support Operations, Maintenance, and other work groups while issuing work permits and overseeing contract work activities as required.

  • Respond to leaks, spills, and abnormal right-of-way conditions by supporting containment, repair, cleanup, and preventative actions.

  • Uphold all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while participating in rotating on-call responsibilities.

  • Complete work orders, timesheets, driver logs, expense reports, and other documentation accurately and on time.

Who You Are:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1-2 years of operations or maintenance experience in a crude oil pipeline, tank farm, industrial facility, or related environment.

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn operational, maintenance, and repair processes.

  • Team-oriented with a commitment to safety, integrity, inclusion, and collaboration.

  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required operator qualifications and safety training.

  • Ability to successfully wear and utilize respiratory protection equipment, including SCBA and full-face respirators.

  • Must be able to reside within 25 miles of the reporting location, unless otherwise approved by management.

Preferred:
  • Experience working in crude oil pipelines, tank farms, terminal operations, or related energy infrastructure.

  • Construction, maintenance, or industrial field experience.

  • Experience operating equipment such as aerial lifts, skid steers, or front-end loaders.

  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.

  • Experience towing trailers and transporting equipment safely.

Working Conditions:
  • Field and office environment with regularly scheduled travel and overnight stays.

  • Frequent travel to construction sites.

  • Frequent over time and flexibility required to manage multiple projects, emergency response operations, adverse weather conditions, work priorities, fieldwork schedules, and out of town travel.

  • Shifting priorities to meet changing directions.

  • Position frequently requires quick decision making under intense conditions. Position also requires a working knowledge of field and office diplomacy and political correctness.

  • Works independently with little day to day direction.

  • Time commitments often extend beyond normal working hours.

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 50 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (Up to 50 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Mental Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary:
  • Ranges from $27.75 – $35.50 per hour USD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.

  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
