Job summary

Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) seeks a Systems Technician to support U.S. Navy programs, designing, installing, testing, and debugging control, navigation, and network systems on Navy ships. You will collaborate with Navy civilian engineers, PMs, logisticians, and OEMs to ensure readiness.

The role emphasizes on-site and remote troubleshooting, with occasional travel to ships and bases. Relevant PLC experience and DoD clearance are required or obtainable, reflecting LCE's mission and security

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years related experience.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical circuits using appropriate tools.
  • Experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, etc.).
  • May require ~25% travel.

Opportunity Summary

As a Systems Technician, you will support the U.S. Navy in designing, developing, installing, testing, and troubleshooting control, navigation, and network systems on Navy ships. The selected candidates will interface with Navy civilian Engineers, Program Managers, Logisticians, and equipment manufacturers.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Responsible for system installation, testing, and troubleshooting support.
  • Conduct software and hardware integration testing.
  • Develop and implement test procedures.
  • Emphasize remote support and troubleshooting as well as on-site assistance for Navy ships.
  • Collaborate with Navy Engineers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and vendors to prepare equipment for installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
Security Clearance Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance
Required Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years related experience
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical circuits using appropriate tools
  • Experienced in comprehensive systems troubleshooting
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring connection lists, and related documents
  • Experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, etc.)
  • May require ~25% travel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior military service related to IBS/INBS
  • Knowledge of software development process
  • QA experience such as identifying excessive cable bend radius and ensuring proper installation of equipment,
  • Computer and/or electronics experience with A+ or Security+ certification
Physical Expectations
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, and standing; frequent periods of prolonged sitting may be required.
  • Maneuvering around tight spaces in a confined environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, hear, and write, with or without assistance.
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment.
