Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Swedesboro, NJ is seeking a Controls Technician to maintain, troubleshoot and optimize plant-wide electrical and automation systems on high-speed food production lines at the Swedesboro facility.

The role supports 1st and 2nd shifts on-site, with a $1.50/hr differential for 2nd shift. Ideal candidates have extensive controls experience, can lead Electro-Mechanics across shifts, and drive GMP and safety standards to maximize uptime and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with industrial controls experience.
• Knowledge of machine layouts, P&IDs, and interconnections.
• Proficiency with Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi programming tools.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and manuals.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize plant electrical, automation, and process control systems to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical and controls-related equipment failures.
• Train and coordinate Electro-Mechanics across all shifts.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for PLCs, drives, networks, and production equipment.
• Maintain electrical schematics, control programs, system configurations, and equipment documentation.
• Support plant utility systems including steam, refrigeration, HVAC, compressed air, water, and power distribution.
• Follow GMP, safety, quality, and regulatory standards and drive continuous improvement.
