The PLC Technician troubleshoots, programs, and maintains automation systems and electrical controls within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on improving equipment performance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe and reliable operation of production and packaging equipment.
Troubleshoot PLCs, automation systems, and electrical control systems to quickly identify and resolve issues.
Modify and update PLC programs to improve equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency.
Diagnose electrical and electronic system failures and implement effective corrective actions.
Install, test, and upgrade production and packaging equipment, including associated control systems.
Perform preventative maintenance and repair work on automation and electrical equipment to reduce unplanned downtime.
Support production teams during equipment breakdowns and downtime events by providing timely technical assistance.
Calibrate and test equipment to ensure proper and consistent operation in line with specifications.
Document all repairs, programming changes, and maintenance activities accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist with continuous improvement and reliability initiatives focused on automation and control systems.
Train maintenance team members on basic PLC troubleshooting techniques when needed.
3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs.
PLC programming and troubleshooting skills for automation systems.
RS Logix experience (5000, 500, or 5).
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in an industrial environment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Experience working with control panels and systems up to 480V.
Experience working with 480V control systems.
Automation and PLC programming experience.
Allen-Bradley PLC troubleshooting experience.
Experience with RS Logix software preferred.
Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) preferred.
Experience with HMI systems preferred.
Experience supporting production and packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to train other maintenance team members on basic PLC troubleshooting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
