Job summary

Actalent in Holland, MI seeks a dedicated Controls Technician for highly automated manufacturing in a cleanroom. You will troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, robotics, vision systems, cameras and servos.

You'll address downtime, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve uptime, quality and efficiency. This is a fully onsite, two-shift role with hands-on collaboration with production and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting automation equipment, including PLCs, vision systems, servos, motors and wiring.
• Experience with Fanuc robot programming.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing support.

We are seeking a dedicated Controls Technician to support our highly automated manufacturing operations within a cleanroom environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving automation systems, including PLCs, robotics, vision systems, cameras, servos, and related manufacturing equipment. This role requires a proactive problem solver who can swiftly address production issues, identify root causes, and implement immediate and long-term solutions to enhance equipment reliability, quality, and overall operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing equipment, including PLCs, robotics, vision systems, cameras, and servo-driven systems.

• Respond to equipment downtime and production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

• Provide technical support to production, maintenance, setup, and engineering teams.

Essential Skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Expertise in troubleshooting, robotics, automation, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and repair.

• Experience with Cognex systems.

Work Environment

This position offers two shifts: 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM and 3rd shift from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. The role requires active engagement in a production/manufacturing environment, working 42-50 hours per week, with occasional Saturday work if necessary. The Controls Technician will report to the shift supervisor and is expected to be hands‑on in their approach.

This is a Permanent position based out of Holland, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $70000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
