Job summary

Rinker Materials is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Houston, TX plant. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues, and support safe, efficient operations.

The role requires a business/technical degree or proven plant experience, proficiency with plans and blueprints, and the ability to work at heights with a harness. You’ll join a team dedicated to excellence and steady growth.

Qualifications

• Business/technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• One plus years’ experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Working knowledge of large machine operation and infrastructure construction.
• Technical expertise in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and electronics.
• General computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.
• Ability to read and apply information from plans, blueprints and manuals; diagnostic problem solving; attention to detail.
• Mathematical and mechanical problem-solving abilities.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and systems.
• Conduct inspections to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problems.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, switches, and valves.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed.
• Install, maintain, and repair low and high voltage electrical systems.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects and ensure efficient operations.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and resolving maintenance issues promptly.
• Position requires working on tall structures using a manlift, ladders and safety harnesses.

About You

We Require:

• Business/technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience. One plus years’ experience in a manufacturing plant.

• Technical expertise in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and electronics.
• Ability to provide clear and concise verbal instructions along with the ability to listen and ask questions to understand points made by others.
• General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.
• Ability to read and apply information fromplans, blueprints, work instructions and equipment manuals. Diagnostic problem solving techniques. Detail orientation.
• Mathematical skills and mechanical abilities to diagnose and solve problems.
• Demonstrated pattern of positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication.
• Must have a valid drivers’ license.
