Job summary

Automationtechies in Tampa, FL is seeking a PLC Programmer to join our growing systems integration team. You will work on projects around the Tampa area, writing and installing ladder logic for Allen Bradley PLCs and designing reliable HMI interfaces.

Travel to client sites is required; you will analyze requirements, coordinate with field construction, test programs, and provide start-up support and operational training.

Qualifications

  • AS or BS in software/engineering or related field preferred; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to client locations (mostly within Tampa area).

PLC Programmer job at Automationtechies. Tampa, FL.

An established Systems Integrator is hiring a PLC Programmer for ongoing projects in the Tampa, FL area. Allen Bradley Control Logix, Compact Logix, Micro Logix, and HMI screens experience is required. You will be traveling to clients' locations around the Tampa area, analyzing system requirements, writing, and installing custom programmable logic code, coordinating with field construction, and providing operational support for start-ups.

To ensure success as a PLC programmer, you should know machine mechanics, process controls, a logical approach, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. A skilled PLC programmer should be able to easily identify and design a robust program fit for any mechanical or electrical purpose.

Requirements:
  • AS or BS in software engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field is preferred. (OR Experience instead of degree)
  • At least 3 years experience as a PLC programmer. (Allen Bradley required)
  • Electrical and mechanical engineering experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and mechanical processes.
  • Knowledge of software design principles.
  • Detailed knowledge of PLC automation software and coding languages.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel when required. (mostly in and around Tampa)
