Job summary

Roberts Sinto Corporation in Grand Ledge, MI is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design and implement control panels and electrical schematics, programming PLCs and HMIs, and integrating sensors and safety devices. This role requires travel to customer sites for commissioning and hands-on debugging.

You will work with Rockwell and Siemens ecosystems, applying ISO safety standards and industry practices to deliver reliable automation solutions across North America.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
• 5–7 years in controls or industrial automation.
• Familiarity with Rockwell or Siemens ecosystems and safety PLC programming.

Responsibilities

• Engineer control panels and electrical schematics with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Design hydraulic and pneumatic circuits to achieve machine functionality.
• Program PLCs and HMIs in Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 or Siemens TIA Portal.
• Specify and integrate sensors, safety devices, VFDs, servos, and vision systems.
• Lead commissioning and debug at our facility and customer sites (~25% travel).
• Oversee small-to-mid-size projects to hit scope, schedule, and budget targets.
• Deliver clear Operator and Maintenance manuals for customer success.
