Job summary

Roberts Sinto Corporation in Grand Ledge, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer/Technician to lead the lifecycle of integrated automation systems from concept through site acceptance.

You will design hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, develop PLC/HMI software (Rockwell/Siemens), and select sensors, VFDs, servo motors, and safety components. Expect ~25% travel to plant and customer sites and chances to manage projects end-to-end.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in industrial automation or controls engineering.
• Expertise in Rockwell Automation or Siemens environments.
• Safety PLC programming and ISO 13849 compliance.
• Industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Link-IO).
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 79 standards.
• Ability to perform basic math and analyze/resolve problems.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel ~25% annually.
• Comfortable working around mechanical/electrical systems and noise.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end lifecycle of integrated automation systems from concept to site acceptance.
• Design hydraulic and pneumatic circuits for machine functionality.
• Develop PLC and HMI software (Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 or Siemens TIA Portal).
• Select and integrate sensors, VFDs, servo motors, vision systems, and safety components.
• Lead commissioning and debug phases at plant and customer sites (~25% travel).
• Manage small to mid-size projects with milestones on time and budget.
• Create Operator and Maintenance manuals for handoff.
