The Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Technician is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects related to PLC and HMI systems. The role requires a professional with technical knowledge, project management skills, a mindset of continuous improvement, and a commitment to quality and customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test equipment or software.
2. Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation based on blueprints, schematics, or manuals.
3. Install repaired equipment in various settings.
4. Troubleshoot and repair equipment and HMI control devices.
5. Use and maintain electrical software programs.
6. Collaborate with the IT department on data transfer and reporting.
7. Provide technical expertise in automation and systems.
8. Train and assist team members with job aids, SOPs, and instructions.
9. Install and maintain inverter control packages and communication networks.
10. Respond to call-ins outside of scheduled hours.
11. Maintain safety, food safety, quality, and GMP regulations.
12. Report safety, food safety, and quality issues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience in PLC, HMI, and motor control systems.
• Specialized training in PLC control and machine control.
• Knowledge of ladder logic, FBD, STL, and documentation.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to work flexible hours.

Physical Demands

Must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
