Job summary

Urbandale Middle School, part of the Urbandale Community School District, seeks a Continuous Improvement Lead for 8th Grade Science. This is a full-time teaching role with additional leadership responsibilities, reporting to the Building Principal.

The position centers on facilitating the PLC process, analyzing student outcomes, and guiding instructional improvements to support a culture of dignity and belonging. Starting July 1, 2026, the role includes a $2,000 stipend and extra time as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of teaching experience, with the most recent year in the Urbandale Community School District.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to use data to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement efforts.
• Proven record of collaboration, particularly in the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and support the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process, ensuring that teams are collaborating effectively around student outcomes.
• Guide teams in analyzing student performance data and developing instructional strategies to meet identified needs to support a Culture of Dignity and Belonging.
• Ensure the PLC process is aligned with building and district goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Provide leadership in making data-based decisions that drive instruction, intervention, and school improvement efforts.
