Job summary

Divcon is seeking a hands-on Control Technician to support DDC/PLC projects with on-site responsibilities across HVAC and data-center related systems. Travel, per diem, lodging, and accommodations are provided per policy.

You will work under Senior and Lead Technicians to verify installations, perform startup activities, document field work, and escalate issues as needed to ensure reliable, high-performance controls delivery.

Qualifications

• Hands-on field technician support for DDC/PLC projects.
• Perform installation verification, database uploads, and point-to-point checkout.

Responsibilities

• Start up, commission, and re-commission systems using DDC or PLC technology.
• Troubleshoot mid-level system problems and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Verify field installation against drawings and project docs; flag discrepancies.
• Provide turnkey project delivery on site systems.
• Unitary systems (VAV/FPB/FCU); Small AHUs/CRAHs; Basic CW/HW Systems.
• Perform verification checks per L2–L4 and assist with L5 IST commissioning for data centers.
• Understand common communication protocols.

About the role:

The Control Technician is the hands-on foundation of the controls field team and will support DDC/BAS or PLC project work based on business need, project assignment, and developing skillset. This role executes installation verification, database uploads, point-to-point checkout, startup support, field documentation, and issue escalation under the direction of Senior and Lead Technicians.

This position requires regular travel. Per diem, lodging, and travel accommodation are provided in accordance with company policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Start up, commission, re-commission customer systems that utilize DDC or PLC technology
• Provides solutions to mid-level systems problems either troubleshooting the system or assists others on how to resolve problems. Works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
• Verify field installation against drawings, schedules, point lists, network architecture, addressing tables, and project documentation; flag discrepancies to Supervisor or the Senior or Lead Technician.
