Job summary

Divcon Controls is seeking a Control Technician to support DDC/PLC project work as part of our controls field team. The role involves installation verification, documentation, and startup support under supervision.

The successful candidate will travel regularly, with per diem and lodging provided per policy, and participate in turnkey system commissioning for HVAC and related applications. Experience with field wiring and commissioning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Start up, commission, re-commission customer systems that utilize DDC or PLC technology
• Provide solutions to mid-level systems problems, troubleshoot, and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure proper operation
• Verify field installations against drawings and documentation; flag discrepancies to supervisor
• Provide turnkey project delivery on specific site systems
• Unitary systems (VAV/FPB/FCU)
• Small AHUs/CRAHs
• Basic CW/HW systems
• Perform verifications per L2-L4, and support L5/IST commissioning for turnkey datacenter work

About the role:

The Control Technician is the hands-on foundation of the controls field team and will support DDC/BAS or PLC project work based on business need, project assignment, and developing skillset. This role executes installation verification, database uploads, point-to-point checkout, startup support, field documentation, and issue escalation under the direction of Senior and Lead Technicians.

This position requires regular travel. Per diem, lodging, and travel accommodation are provided in accordance with company policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Start up, commission, re-commission customer systems that utilize DDC or PLC technology
• Provides solutions to mid-level systems problems either troubleshooting the system or assists others on how to resolve problems. Works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
• Verify field installation against drawings, schedules, point lists, network architecture, addressing tables, and project documentation; flag discrepancies to Supervisor or the Senior or Lead Technician.
