Job summary

Prysmian Group in Willimantic, CT, seeks a qualified PLC/Controls Engineer to design, develop, install, troubleshoot, modify, and back-up PLC and computer software for production equipment. You will collaborate with maintenance staff to support projects, repairs, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s/Associate degree in Electrical/Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years’ experience; advanced PLC programming and CAD skills, with experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Electrical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing (wire & cable preferred).
  • Advanced computer skills including PLC programming and CAD; EH&S knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of wire and cable equipment and processes.
  • Support maintenance in electrical/electronic systems troubleshooting and training.
  • Provide engineering support to maintenance for equipment performance and safety.
  • Manage projects including design, procurement, installation and startup.
  • Liaise with outside electrical engineering, construction and consulting firms.
  • Manage outsourced repairs of critical electronic components and spares inventory.
  • Develop and de-bug control logic for machine control systems.
  • Analyze electrical schematics to diagnose repairs.
  • Document all electrical work and maintain software backups.
