Job summary

Prysmian is seeking an Automation/Controls Engineer to support the manufacturing of Medium and Low Voltage Cable. You'll develop PLC and HMI programs and provide controls and automation support for production, including after-hours on rotation.

You will refine processes for electrical safety and equipment efficiency, inspect and maintain systems, and assist with new equipment commissioning. Strong PLC/SCADA experience and IEC programming knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or Computer Science, or an associate/technical degree in controls or automation, or 5 years of hands-on experience.
• Excellent planning, communication and organizational skills.
• Detail oriented with analytical problem-solving ability.
• Ability to contribute to continuous process improvements.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Comply with safety procedures and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 guidelines.
• Demonstrated results through people, technology and processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PLC and HMI programs used by production and facilities.
• Provide controls and automation support for optical fiber manufacturing.
• Offer off-hours support on a rotating basis.
• Instruct, assist and mentor electrical team members.
• Refine electrical safety and equipment efficiency processes.
• Inspect, repair, calibrate and maintain electrical systems and instrumentation.
• Modify, rebuild or overhaul electronic and electrical equipment and controls.
• Support commissioning of new production equipment and back up critical files.
• Adhere to plant standards and perform other duties as assigned.
