Job summary

Constellation Search Group seeks a Controls Engineer to design and optimize PLC-based control systems for automated machinery in Cary, IL. The role involves developing PLC programs, researching components, and creating panel layouts and schematics for reliable operation.

You will integrate with servo, motion controllers, HMIs, and other subsystems, applying electronics expertise and precise problem-solving to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electronics.
• Minimum 2 years of PLC programming experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation.
• CAD experience for schematic documentation.
• Experience with vision systems is a valuable asset.
• Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize PLCs to enhance machine efficiency by reducing cycle times, increasing uptime, and minimizing operator intervention.
• Design control systems for automated machinery, including research and selection of new components, creating panel layouts and schematics, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with various systems, including PLCs, servo systems, stepper systems, HMIs, power supplies, motion controllers, and communication loops.
