JBAndrews is recruiting a Control Systems Engineer to support a major automated fulfilment operation in the USA. This site-based role focuses on keeping a highly automated warehouse operating reliably, monitoring PLC-controlled equipment across conveyors, storage and sorter systems.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in PLC/Controls, strong Siemens/Beckhoff experience, HMIs, PROFINET, sensors, actuators and drives/VFDs, plus a relevant degree and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in PLC, controls or automation engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Siemens and/or Beckhoff PLC systems.
• Experience troubleshooting conveyor, storage, or material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support PLC-controlled warehouse automation systems.
• Troubleshoot faults across conveyors, storage and sortation equipment.
• Diagnose issues across PLC logic, HMIs, sensors, actuators, drives/VFDs and industrial networks (PROFINET).
• Restore equipment to operation through structured troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with on-site engineering and maintenance teams during incidents.
• Escalate complex issues to specialist controls teams when required.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and incident records.
• Identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve reliability and performance.

JBAndrews is working with a leading global warehouse automation and intralogistics systems integrator to recruit a Control Systems Engineer to support a major automated fulfilment operation in the USA.

The Role

This is a site-based position focused on keeping a highly automated warehouse operating reliably. You will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled automation equipment across storage, conveyor and sorter systems, helping minimise downtime and restore equipment to operation as quickly as possible.

The role will involve diagnosing faults across PLC logic, HMIs, sensors and actuators, drives/VFDs and industrial networks, while working closely with on-site maintenance teams and wider controls and technical support functions.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitor and support PLC-controlled warehouse automation systems.
• Troubleshoot faults across conveyors, storage systems and sortation equipment.
• Diagnose issues involving PLC logic, HMIs, sensors, actuators, drives/VFDs and industrial networks.
• Restore equipment to operation through structured troubleshooting and approved corrective actions.
• Coordinate with on-site engineering and maintenance teams during system incidents.
• Escalate complex technical issues to specialist controls and engineering teams when required.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, support tickets and incident records.
• Identify recurring system issues and opportunities to improve reliability and performance.
• Provide clear technical updates and handovers to operational stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years' experience within PLC, Controls or Automation Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Siemens and/or Beckhoff PLC systems.
• Experience troubleshooting automated conveyor, storage or material handling equipment.
• Exposure to HMIs, drives/VFDs, sensors, actuators and industrial networks such as PROFINET.
• Previous experience within warehouse automation, intralogistics or material handling is strongly preferred.
• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently within a live operational environment.
• Full authorization to work in the United States.
