Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. seeks an Automation Engineer/Specialist to plan, design, implement and support PLC-based automation for liquids pipelines and related facilities. The role is located in Doraville, GA with a hybrid schedule combining in-office and remote work.

You will work with AB PLC platforms (PLC-5, SLC-500, Micrologix, ControlLogix) and PC-based HMIs, coordinate with operations, and manage capital projects from tens of thousands to millions of dollars.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology; 5+ years in industrial automation.
• Experience with programming, commissioning and maintaining complex industrial control systems.
• Working experience with AB PLC-5, SLC-500, Micrologix and ControlLogix systems.
• Knowledge of FactoryTalk View ME, RSView32, and Prosoft gateways.
• Reading electrical/control drawings and P&IDs; project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain PLC-based automation systems.
• Develop PC-based HMI systems.
• Design and implement automation networks and communications protocols.
• Provide on-site services, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and manage capital projects from $20,000 to over $2,000,000.
