Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking an Automation Engineer/Specialist to plan, design, implement and support PLC and PC-based automation for liquids pipelines, measurement facilities and plant operations. The role involves helping integrate facilities with the local control center and requires extensive AB PLC experience.

The position offers a hybrid schedule (office Mon-Wed, home Thu-Fri) and reports to the Houston manager, with possible locations in Doraville, GA, Birmingham, AL, or Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology; Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial automation system design, programming, maintenance, and technical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain PLC based automation systems.
• Design, develop, test and maintain PC based HMI systems.
• Specify and configure automation system networks and communications protocols.
• Read and interpret electrical, control and instrumentation drawings; review packages.
• Provide on-site services including commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Develop and manage capital projects from $20k to over $2M.
