Job summary

Kinder Morgan seeks an Automation Engineer/Specialist to design, implement, and support automation systems for pipelines and facilities. You will lead PLC/HMI development, networks, and commissioning, with on-site and remote support as needed.

The role requires extensive AB PLC experience, project coordination, and strong problem-solving skills. Hybrid work options available in multiple office locations across Georgia, Alabama, and Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology; Electrical Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in instrumentation and control engineering, systems integration, or related field.
• Experience with AB PLC-5, SLC-500, MicroLogix, and ControlLogix platforms is required.
• Hands-on experience reading electrical, control, and instrumentation drawings and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain PLC-based automation systems.
• Design and maintain PC-based HMI systems.
• Develop and manage automation networks and communication protocols.
• Lead commissioning and field startup activities.
• Provide on-site services and troubleshooting support as needed.
• Develop and manage capital projects from scope to budget and schedule.
