Job summary

Granite School District in Utah is seeking a paraeducator/playground assistant to monitor student behavior in the lunchroom, playground, and classrooms and to provide supervision to ensure student safety.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, reliable attendance, and the ability to deescalate potential volatile situations; no prior experience is required. This is a part-time role at 10 hours per week with duties inside and outside, including during inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Monitors behavior of students in lunchroom, playground and classrooms.
• Moves about to provide constant supervision for student safety.
• Monitors student activities for inappropriate behaviors (bullying, unsafe activities, rough play).
• Reminds students of expectations according to school procedures.
• Refers students for discipline to administration.
• Inspects playground for hazards and ensures student safety.
