Job summary

Century School is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Recess Monitor. This part-time role focuses on providing a safe, enjoyable outdoor recess environment for students, with a schedule from 11:15 am to 1:15 pm, Monday through Friday.

Applicants should have a passion for working with children, excellent interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude. Experience with CPR/First Aid is preferred or the willingness to obtain certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during outdoor recess, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Encourage positive social interactions and conflict resolution.
• Monitor and facilitate games to promote activity and teamwork.
• Enforce school rules to maintain a safe environment.
• Assist students as needed and provide support.
• Communicate with students, staff and parents about concerns or incidents.
• Maintain a clean outdoor play area and ensure equipment is safe.
• Participate in training and staff meetings as required.
