Job summary

Community Unit School District 308 seeks a part-time Student Recess Supervisor to oversee student safety during recess, inside or outside the building. Hours are 11:25 A.M. to 1:25 P.M., with compensation at $15.75 per hour.

The role requires supervising students in grades K-5, maintaining a positive attitude, and following school guidelines. A background check is required to qualify for the position.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising grades K-5 is preferred.
• Ability to exercise tact, patience, kindness and positive attitude.
• Must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to establish and maintain friendly, cooperative relationships with students.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to supervise individual or groups of students.
• Ability to work in physically and emotionally fatiguing environments; perform physically demanding tasks.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Be aware of and enforce playground rules and regulations.
• Supervise and monitor students during assigned playground periods.
• Use disciplinary procedures consistent with the school site discipline plan.
• Be aware of and enforce school safety standards at all times.
• Report unsafe playground conditions, including equipment, to an administrator immediately.
• Alert an administrator to any problem or special information about a student.
• Maintain satisfactory attendance.
