Job summary

Bethel School District is seeking a paraeducator to support student safety and well-being in non-classroom settings. The role covers lunchrooms, hallways and playground supervision with emphasis on positive behavior and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities include guiding students, assisting with lunch periods, monitoring equipment and coordinating with staff. Requires fingerprinting, background checks, and adherence to infection control policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety rules, regulations and procedures.
• Ability to deal with students in a warm and confident manner.
• Ability to supervise and correct student behavior.
• Ability to learn and implement behavior management techniques.
• Ability to follow instructions and remain flexible.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in lunchrooms, halls and playgrounds, mediate disputes and enforce discipline.
• Ensure students follow rules, instruct proper behavior in all areas.
• Assist with lunch setup, cleanup and dismissal to recess.
• Supervise playground use, inspect equipment and report repairs.
• Monitor for first aid needs and refer as appropriate.
• Check in with office staff, report problems and maintain safety.
• Build rapport with students and communicate with teachers and admins.
• Organize/intramural activities, teach game rules and resolve issues.
• Encourage participation of isolated or special needs students.
• May monitor restrooms during lunch or recess.
