Job summary

San Francisco Unified School District is seeking a Noon Monitor/Playground Aide for Chinese Immersion Elementary School. The role is part-time during the school year, with duties focused on supervising students, facilitating group activities, and ensuring safety on the playground.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior experience working with children/students under supervision of classroom teachers, site managers or school principal.

Responsibilities

• Noon Monitors transport students safely on school grounds.
• Supervise students at playtime and maintain a harmonious playground atmosphere.
• Organizes group games and activities.
• Supervises lunch recesses in cafeteria and school yard.
• Assist students in wellness rooms.
• Assists in restorative conversations and in response to students in crisis.
• Walks around the yards and helps children resolve conflicts using intervention strategies.
• Send students to the office for medical attention or in serious discipline situations.
