Job summary

Los Altos Golf & Country Club is seeking a part-time Player Support team member to provide bag, golf cart and range services to members and guests. You will contribute to safety checks, equipment maintenance, and courteous service on a world-class course in a family-oriented environment.

As part of the Professional Staff, you will be evaluated on appearance, attitude, service level, and professionalism while working mostly outdoors and attending staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable about the game of golf and its rules.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
• Able to meet the physical requirements and work outdoors in variable conditions.

Responsibilities

• Brings golf cars from car shelter to staging area outside Golf Pro Shop and checks safety.
• Loads bags from storage onto golf cars and transports range balls to ends of range.
• Operates tractor and ball picker, washes range balls daily, and maintains equipment.
• Clears bags from cars, returns items, and checks for damage; assists Pro Shop as needed.
• Maintains bag storage area cleanliness and attends staff meetings.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Golf Professional.

Come be part of something special – apply today!SUMMARYProvide bag, golf cart, and range services to members and guests.SUCCESS CRITERIAAs a member of the Professional Staff, each and every day you will be evaluated on the following criteria:AppearanceAttitudeService LevelProfessionalismAccommodations of Members and GuestsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBrings golf cars from car shelter to car staging area outside Golf Pro Shop; checks golf cars for tire pressure, brake operation and other safety considerations.Loads bags from bag storage room onto golf cars.Transports range balls to each end of range and fills appropriate containers.Places baskets of balls at evenly spaced intervals on range.Operates tractor and ball picker on range to retrieve balls.Washes all range balls daily.Removes bags from golf cars and returns bags to assigned rack in bag storage room.Returns golf cars to car shelter; removes towels, pencils, score cards, tees, drink cans, etc., from golf cars and saves reusable items; checks cars for damage; washes golf car with pressure cleaner; parks car in shelter and connects charger cable.Advises Pro Shop of clubs found on the course and destined for the lost and found.Cleans all clubs for members and guests; cleans and maintains the club’s rental equipment.Maintains cleanliness of and order in Bag Storage Room.Attends staff meetings.Performs other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Assistant Golf Professional.WORK ENVIRONMENTMostly outdoorsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSRegularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
