PGA National Resort is seeking a Player Assistant for the Palm Beach Gardens, FL area. This seasonal role focuses on delivering high-level customer service to Members and Guests on the course while enforcing golf rules and etiquette.

You will be on course as scheduled, assist with etiquette, lost balls, rides, ball marks, divots, and coordinate with golf operations staff to ensure smooth play and a welcoming experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience; basic golf knowledge required.
• Ability to communicate and follow instructions.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, friendly customer service to Members and Guests.
• Be on course as scheduled; coordinate with starters and staff.
• Assist Members and Guests with golf etiquette and questions.
• Enforce club rules on the golf course.
• Maintain polite conduct when addressing violations.
• Assist with lost balls and provide rides as needed.
• Repair ball marks, fill divots, and tidy the course.
• Coordinate services with outside staff to ensure smooth service.
• Inform Members/Guests of club services and events.
• Complete daily assignments per Star Service Focus standards.

Player Assistant

Responsible for providing the highest level of professionalism and customer services for our

Members and Guests on the course. Responsible for professionally enforcing all club rules

pertaining to golf as well as providing assistance to Members and Guests in order to keep play

at an even flow.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for efficient and friendly customer service to provide the Three Steps of Service as Members and Guests play golf.
• Responsible for being on the course as scheduled, unless checking with the starters or other golf operations staff reporting any incidents or situations that need attention.
• Assist the Members and Guests whenever possible or requesting giving suggestions on proper golf course etiquette.
• Responsible for enforcing all club rules as they pertain to the golf course.
• Maintain a polite manner whenever a Member or Guest is approached with a violation.
• Assist the Members whenever possible by looking for lost balls, providing rides if desired.
• Responsible for fixing ball marks whenever possible, fill divots with topsoil and pick up loose articles on the golf course, straightening cart guidance ropes and their supports.
• Responsible for assisting and coordinating services with other golf operations staff such as outside services, range attendants, cart attendants, etc. as necessary to ensure seamless and efficient services to Members and Guests takes place.
• Be informed to let Members and guests know of Club services, features, upcoming events and specials available in the Golf Shop.
• Responsible for seeing that daily assignments are completed in their respective areas, to meet Club standards and as communicated in the Star Service FOCUS expectations (ieno trash/debris on course, supplies are restocked, signage is neat, etc.).
• Assist fellow Employee Partners,Members and guests to ensure delivery of the 3 steps of service without being directed. Be aware of team members and the environment and participate as a member of the team.
• Notify supervisor of Member/Guest complaints at the time they occur. Rectify, practicing service recover, any complaints as soon as possible

EDUCATION

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Customer service experience. Basic Golf Knowledge Required
• Ability to communicate and follow instructions.
• You are comfortable working in both indoor and occasional outdoor environments

• Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club’s operation, it may be necessary that each Employee Partner to perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other Employees are expected to help you.Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sitting, standing, walking, driving, exposure to temperature changes, dust, fumes, or gases, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs on occasion, folding/unfolding, talking, hearing, and seeing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Most of the time will be working outdoors.
