Job summary

Placements24 seeks a nurturing Foundation Phase Teacher to join a vibrant school in Welkom. You will foster early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development for learners aged approximately 5 to 8 (Grades R-3). A play-based, inclusive classroom supports individual attention and family engagement.

You will plan engaging lessons, monitor progress, and collaborate with colleagues to create a positive learning journey and strong school community.

Qualifications

• qualification in Early Childhood Development or Foundation Phase Teaching
• Valid teaching qualification and registration with the relevant South African professional body
• Experience working with young children in Foundation Phase

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons across Grades R-3 using play-based and interactive methods
• Create a secure, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment
• Monitor and assess children's development and progress and communicate with parents regularly
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a positive and orderly learning space
• Collaborate with other Foundation Phase teachers and school staff to support educational goals
