Job summary

Achievement Prep is seeking an Instructional Coach for Humanities to lead and grow a team of 6–8 English/Humanities teachers in Southeast Washington, DC. You will ensure high-quality curriculum implementation and provide timely feedback to teachers, while modeling data-driven practice and professional growth.

You will partner with the principal and academics leadership to plan PD, observe instruction, and support interventions so students achieve mastery of standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or related field.
• 4+ years as English or Humanities teacher of record in a K–8 setting.
• 1+ teacher leadership experience (lead, chair, mentor, instructional coach, etc.).
• Proven track record of success with student outcomes.
• Master’s degree in Education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach, develop, and manage a team of 6–8 teachers daily.
• Ensure core curricula are implemented with fidelity.
• Review teacher-created materials for quality and alignment.
• Observe instruction and provide actionable feedback.
• Instruct teachers on curriculum development protocols and processes.
• Support teachers with targeted interventions.
• Hold weekly one-on-one coaching meetings with each teacher.
• Lead Summer Institute and ongoing team meetings.
• Track teacher progress using data-driven goals.
