Job summary

Quaker Houghton in Kentucky is seeking a plating operator to perform plating work using the SIFCO Process with the appropriate equipment and solutions. You will follow customer specifications, assist in preparing accurate quoting costs, and work with Inside Sales to answer technical questions.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent) and may involve travel to meet delivery expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or 3–6 months related experience or training.
• Experience with plating or manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Ability to read and adhere to customer purchase orders and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs plating work using equipment and solutions per the SIFCO Process.
• Adheres to specifications from customer purchase orders.
• Assists Contract Service Manager in preparing accurate costs for quoting.
• Works with Inside Sales to resolve customer technical questions.
• Designs and fabricates tooling and fixtures to improve plating efficiency.
• Maintains equipment and work area for safe, clean operation.
• Follows company policies and work instructions; maintains professional customer relations.
• Travels as required to meet customer delivery expectations.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit.
