Job summary

Molex is looking for a Lab Chemist for its Plating Laboratory in Lincoln, Nebraska. The successful candidate will manage plating lab chemistry and ensure production quality through precise chemical analysis and process control.

Responsibilities include performing routine chemical analyses, monitoring plating chemistry, managing precious metals inventory, and supporting compliance with environmental regulations. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field and have prior laboratory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemistry or a related field.
• Chemical lab or manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of chemical analysis techniques.
• Documentation and reporting experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine chemical analysis of plating baths.
• Monitor plating chemistry for gold, silver, and palladium plating baths.
• Manage precious metals inventory and reconciliation.
• Support gold savings and cost improvement initiatives.
• Maintain lab equipment calibration and accurate records.
• Troubleshoot plating baths for quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and internal EHS standards.
• Maintain chemical inventory and track expiration dates.
• Support audits (ISO/IATF) and ensure documentation compliance.
• Liaise with refinery vendors for precious metals recycling.
• Coordinate with EHS and waste treatment vendors for disposal of waste chemicals.
• Monitor final discharge water quality to ensure compliance.
