Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Lead - SME Plating Engineer to own electroplating processes, oversee the chemical laboratory, and drive continuous improvement for cost and quality. You will manage safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental programs across plating operations, while leading a small team of lab and plating personnel.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional groups, deploy Industry 4.0 tools, and sustain KPI improvements in yield, OTP, and waste reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7+ years in electroplating or surface finishing with supervisory experience.
• Experience with plating chemistry, bath control, and analytical methods.
• Experience managing lab operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead plating process ownership and optimization across electroplating baths.
• Oversee laboratory operations supporting plating bath control; ensure analytical accuracy.
• Drive environmental, health and safety (EHS) and quality compliance.
• Coordinate maintenance, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor technicians and supervise lab personnel; lead cross-functional teams.
• Define process parameters, approve bath adjustments, and prevent defects.
