Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a Senior Director, Principal Technical Architect to lead the technical strategy and architecture for a key Digital Platform. You will guide engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reusable capabilities aligned with enterprise standards and business priorities.

You will partner with senior leaders to translate needs into technical decisions and invest in modern engineering, AI-enabled delivery, and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of senior engineering/leadership in enterprise platforms or large-scale tech delivery.
• Experience owning technical strategy and architecture for a significant platform, product, or domain.
• Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams across engineers, architects, and leads.
• Hands-on expertise in modern engineering practices, cloud, data and integration patterns, APIs, security, and reliability.
• Experience shaping technical direction with senior business and Digital stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own Platform technical strategy, aligning business priorities with architecture and standards.
• Serve as design authority for target architecture, standards, and integration patterns.
• Lead and develop engineering teams building and operating the Platform.
• Partner with senior business and Digital leaders to translate needs into practical technical choices and measurable outcomes.
• Define AI-enabled delivery approaches with governance and verification.
• Build a high-performing engineering culture with a focus on technical excellence and accountability.
• Uphold reliability, security, governance, and operational excellence across the Platform.
