Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a Senior Director, Principal Technical Architect to lead the technical strategy and architecture for one of its Digital Platforms. This role guides engineering teams toward modern, secure, scalable, and reusable solutions aligned with Pfizer’s standards.

The leader will translate enterprise needs into a clear technical roadmap, partner with senior stakeholders, and ensure governance and measurable value at global scale.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of senior engineering and technical leadership in enterprise platforms, cloud, or large-scale tech delivery.
• Experience owning the technical strategy and architecture of a significant platform, product, or domain.
• Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams, including engineers, architects, and technical leads.
• Hands-on expertise in modern engineering practices, cloud, data, integration patterns, APIs, security, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own the Platform's technical strategy and target-state architecture, aligning with business priorities and enterprise standards.
• Act as design authority, defining target architecture, standards, and integration patterns for enterprise scale.
• Lead and grow the Platform engineering team to deliver modern, secure, scalable and reusable capabilities.
• Partner with senior business and Digital leaders, product owners, and enterprise architects to drive measurable outcomes.
• Define AI-enabled delivery practices to accelerate speed, quality, and governance.
• Build a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Ensure reliability, security, governance, and observability across the Platform.
