Job summary

Harvey Nash is seeking a Platform/SRE Engineer focused on Snowflake to build, automate, and operate a cloud-based data platform. You will partner with Data Engineering and Infrastructure to reduce toil through automation, observability, and modern deployment practices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Platform/DevOps/SRE/Data Platform Operations.
• Hands-on Snowflake administration experience.
• Design/maintain CI/CD pipelines for databases/platforms.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and streaming (Confluent Kafka).
• Scripting skills: Python/SQL/Bash; Git workflows; on-call production support.

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve cloud-based data platform with a Snowflake focus.
• Build automation to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
• Monitor platform health, performance, availability, and cost; identify improvements.
• Administer Snowflake environments: security, RBAC, warehouses, databases, schemas, resource optimization.
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployments using GitLab and Liquibase/Redgate.
• Automate deployments and operational workflows with Python/SQL/Bash.
• Support integrations between Snowflake and AWS/Azure services (object storage, serverless functions, messaging, identity).
• Support ETL/ELT pipelines and streaming platforms (Confluent Kafka).
• Troubleshoot production issues; improve observability and on-call readiness.

About the Role:

Seeking a Platform Engineer to join our Platform Operationsteam. You will build, automate, and operate our cloud-based data platform with a primary focus on Snowflake, CI/CD, and AWS/Azure cloud services. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on improving platform reliability, scalability, automation, and operational excellence. You'll partner closely with Data Engineering and Infrastructure teams to eliminate operational toil through automation, modern deployment practices, and observability.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Engineering

• Operateand continuously improve our cloud-based data platform with a primaryfocus on Snowflake.
• Buildautomation that improves platform reliability, scalability, andoperational efficiency.
• Monitorplatform health, performance, availability, and cost while proactivelyidentifying opportunities for improvement.

Snowflake Platform

• AdministerSnowflake environments, including security, RBAC, warehouses, databases,schemas, and resource optimization.
• Monitorand tune query performance, warehouse utilization, and platform costs.
• Supportsecure data sharing, governance, and operational best practices.

Cloud & Platform Automation

• Design,build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database and platform deploymentsusing GitLab and tools such as Liquibase or Redgate.
• Automatedeployments and operational workflows using Python, SQL, Bash, or similarscripting languages.
• Supportintegrations between Snowflake and AWS/Azure services, including objectstorage, serverless functions, messaging, and identity services.

Data Platform Operations

• SupportETL/ELT pipelines and streaming platforms, including Confluent Kafka.
• Troubleshootproduction issues across data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, andplatform services.
• Improveoperational readiness through monitoring, alerting, logging, andobservability.

Operational Support

• Participatein an on-call rotation to support production data platform services andrespond to critical incidents.
• Performroot cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes to improveplatform reliability and reduce recurring incidents.
• Collaboratewith cross-functional teams during incident response and post-incidentreviews.

Security & Reliability

• Implementand maintain IAM, auditing, logging, and security controls across theplatform.
• Promoteautomation-first operational practices and platform engineering standards.

Collaboration

• Partnerwith Data Engineering, Analytics, Infrastructure, and businessstakeholders to deliver reliable platform services.
• Contributeto platform architecture discussions and operational best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 4+years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps,Site Reliability Engineering, or Data Platform Operations.
• Stronghands-on experience administering and supporting Snowflake.
• Designingand maintaining CI/CD pipelines for database or platform deployments.
• Workingwith AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• SupportingETL/ELT pipelines and streaming technologies such as Confluent Kafka.
• Strongscripting skills using Python, SQL, Bash, or similar languages.
• Experiencewith Git-based development workflows.
• Supportingproduction systems in an on-call or operational support environment.
• Strongtroubleshooting skills across cloud infrastructure, distributed systems,and production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform orCloudFormation).
• Workfloworchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Serverlessand event-driven architectures.
• Cloudmonitoring, observability, and cost optimization tools.
• Supportingenterprise data platforms.

A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base salary for this position is $130 K to $150 K per year with Bonus. Employeebenefits will also be available, and details are available likePension/401K/ Paid Vacation/ Life, Medical & Dental insurance etc.
