Job summary

AutoZone seeks a Systems Engineer (SRE) to design, develop, test, and maintain internal platform services, tooling, and automation frameworks. You will collaborate with diverse teams to translate requirements into technical specifications for reliable, scalable software in a distributed environment.

You will implement instrumentation, logging, and metrics collection, optimize performance, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and release automation across the SDLC for SRE-owned tools and platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3 years of systems engineer experience in a large retail environment.
• Experience with Linux and distributed systems.
• Experience with container orchestration, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and desired state configuration management.
• Proficiency with DevOps tools including Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Azure, GCP, Dynatrace, GitLab, ArgoCD and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain internal platform services, developer tooling, and automation frameworks for a platform-centric deployment model.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to gather requirements, translate into technical specs, and deliver software solutions for reliability and scalability.
• Design and implement instrumentation, logging, and metrics collection; analyze performance data and optimize accordingly.
• Develop release automation and deployment pipelines; participate in full SDLC for SRE-owned tools and platforms.
