Job summary

Planet’s Platform teams develop and operate systems that provide access to Planet's daily imagery and derived products across customers and partners. You’ll contribute to imagery access capabilities using Go, Python, and Java, on major cloud platforms with an emphasis on scalable, observable services.

The role is full-time and hybrid, requiring on-site presence in Ljubljana three days per week. You will collaborate across time zones, participate in code reviews, and apply AI tooling responsibly

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development in a production environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Geosciences, or related discipline.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices and development methodologies.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy and maintain performant, distributed large-scale services and APIs in Go, Java and/or Python.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers across cross-functional teams to align goals.
• Write high-quality, observable, and well-documented production code.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality and standards.
• Own the operation of these APIs and services with Site Reliability Engineering practices.
