Job summary

Discord is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers in securing the platform and reducing security risk across Engineering. You will shape security strategy and own technically and socially complex projects, focusing on identities, access, CI/CD, and cloud operations.

Remote-friendly from the US West Coast or SF, you will mentor engineers, drive secure baselines, risk assessments, threat modeling, and code reviews while balancing business needs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading security software teams.
• Strong background in cloud security and risk management.
• Hands-on software development experience in Python/TypeScript/Rust.
• Ability to design secure cloud infrastructure and IAM systems.
• Experience with threat modeling and secure code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop secure baselines for cloud infrastructure and ownership of cloud security.
• Manage infrastructure vulnerabilities for a high-velocity engineering org.
• Secure software supply chains from development to production.
• Build and operate IAM systems for humans and machines with least privilege.
• Advise on risk assessments, designs, threat models, and code reviews.
