Job summary

Discord is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to advance identity and access management across a high-scale platform. You will own end-to-end engineering projects on a code-forward team and help shape how services authenticate, authorize, and audit access.

You will improve the Zero Trust architecture, define identity concepts for non-human actors, and automate least-privilege permissions while collaborating with a security-focused, multi-cloud environment in the San Francisco office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production systems.
• 3+ years writing software in Python/TypeScript/Rust.
• 3+ years securing systems with millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Own software engineering projects end-to-end on a highly autonomous team.
• Define identity for autonomous agents and non-human actors.
• Build and evolve Access, Discord's employee authorization platform.
• Design and harden the Zero Trust architecture across tooling.
• Automate continuous permission right-sizing with least privilege.
• Develop secure cloud identity baselines and protect the software supply chain.
• Consult on risk assessments, architecture, and threat models.
