Job summary

Karsun Solutions, LLC is seeking a senior technical operations leader to own a cloud-native data and AI platform for a federal program. You will drive reliability, observability, incident response, and platform engineering for data pipelines, feature stores, and model serving.

You will partner with SRE leads to implement SRE practices, automate workflows with Terraform/CloudFormation and CI/CD tools, and manage capacity, costs, and security for federal environments.

Qualifications

• This role requires 10+ years of directly relevant IT work experience.
• 7+ years in technical operations / platform / SRE; 3+ years in AWS production environments.
• Strong understanding of data products ownership: data lineage, SLAs, and consumer contracts.
• Hands-on with data platforms such as Databricks, Airflow, S3, Kafka/Kinesis and related tooling.
• Security/compliance experience for federal environments and incident/ RCA reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical owner for platform availability and runbooks for data pipelines, feature stores, model serving, and infra.
• Collaborate with SRE Lead to design and operationalize SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs/SLAs) and reduce toil.
• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability across data/AI stacks (ETL/ELT, data lakes/warehouses, model training/serving).
• Lead incident management including on-call rotations, RCA, remediation tracking, and improvements.
