Job summary

Kin Insurance seeks a Product Manager to own Kin's product configuration platform—the internal toolset powering product data, API design, and AI enablement. You’ll work with internal teams like Underwriting, Compliance, and Insurance to design data models, APIs, and tooling that enable self-serve product configurations.

You’ll guide expansion beyond insurance, balancing ambiguity with customer outcomes. You’ll collaborate with engineering and design to move concepts to production, define

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management, with direct ownership of a platform, API, or internal tooling product.
• Experience treating internal teams as customers — translate workflows into platform requirements.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity as the platform scope expands beyond insurance.
• Technical fluency to work with engineers on API design, versioning, and data models.
• Experience with or interest in applying AI tools to internal workflows — prototyping, configuration, or enablement use cases.
• Strong written and verbal communication with engineers and stakeholders.
• Bias toward shipping — take a platform capability from concept to adoption.

Responsibilities

• Own the product strategy and roadmap for Product API and configuration data model.
• Define how internal teams consume product data and build the platform as a customer.
• Drive API strategy and versioning standards for reliable interfaces.
• Lead discovery on platform expansion as Kin’s offerings grow beyond insurance.
• Build and scale AI-enabled workflows on the Product API MCP for self-service enablement.
• Partner with engineering and design to take platform capabilities from prototype to production.
• Write precise specs for IHOP and PAPI features with minimal back-and-forth.
• Define and own metrics to measure independent delivery of products.
