Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Platform Operations Manager to lead the design, deployment, and operation of a modern, containerized stack supporting the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform. The role ensures uptime, reliability, and performance across a full-stack, microservices environment while fostering a strong DevSecOps culture in a fast-paced setting.

The candidate will guide a team of system administrators, collaborate with systems engineers, and participate in SAFe Agile release planning.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, CS, Systems Eng or related field with 15+ years.
• Master's degree with 13+ years of experience.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II+ certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, SSCP, CISSP).
• Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification.
• Experience with Kubernetes, GitLab pipelines, Linux, and containerized environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure uptime, performance, and capacity planning for a large-scale big data production platform with microservices.
• Lead triage, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
• Define and track reliability metrics including SLIs and SLOs.
• Lead a team of system administrators and mentor staff.
• Partner with systems engineers to design solutions and support architectural alignment.
• Participate in SAFe Agile release planning, scrums, and cross-team coordination.
