Job summary
NRG Energy is seeking a Platform Operations Engineer to coordinate production support, observability, and AI-enabled improvements across the Home Services technology stack. You will partner with Engineering, Product, Architecture, QA, and Platform teams to boost reliability and performance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field and strong analytical abilities.
- 5+ years in Platform Engineering, IT Operations, DevOps, or related discipline.
- Experience with production applications in enterprise settings.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-team production support and incidents.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting platforms.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate production support activities to ensure timely incident resolution and clear communication.
- Assist incident management with investigations, RCAs, corrective actions, and post‑incident follow‑ups.
- Coordinate readiness for releases, maintenance events, and platform changes.
- Develop and communicate dashboards, KPIs, and service performance metrics.
- Work with engineering teams to instrument, monitor, and alert across services.
- Lead AI-enabled operational workflows and automation improvements.
- Maintain runbooks and standard operating procedures for operational excellence.
- Collaborate with Platform Architects, Solution Engineers, QA, and Delivery teams.
