Job summary
NRG Energy is seeking a Platform Operations Engineer to coordinate and improve the operational effectiveness of the Home Services technology platform. You will partner with Engineering, Product, Architecture, QA, and Platform teams to enhance platform reliability, visibility, and service performance.
The role involves production operations support, environment coordination, monitoring, observability, and AI-enabled operational capabilities to ensure engineering teams have the tools and processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in information systems, CS, or engineering.
- 5+ years in platform engineering, IT operations, DevOps, or SRE.
- Experience supporting mission-critical production applications in enterprise environments.
- Experience coordinating across multiple teams for production support and releases.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate production support across Engineering, Product, and Platform teams to enable timely incident resolution.
- Coordinate investigations, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and post-incident reviews.
- Plan and coordinate environment readiness for releases, maintenance events, and platform changes.
- Develop and communicate dashboards, KPIs, and service performance metrics.
- Identify gaps in observability and implement monitoring standards and automation.
