Job summary

DysrupIT is seeking an Infrastructure & Platform Operations Engineer to maintain and improve production platforms, with a strong emphasis on BAU support, platform stability, and knowledge transfer. The role spans cloud, on-prem, Linux, networking, databases, containers, and monitoring.

The candidate will work in a collaborative environment, handling incidents, performing root-cause analyses, and contributing to platform upgrades and automation while ensuring security and compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform operations, systems engineering or production support.
• Strong BAU and production support experience with ownership of incidents and changes.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience in production environments.
• Linux administration and troubleshooting, especially Ubuntu/RedHat, via command line.
• Deep networking troubleshooting across TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, TLS.
• MongoDB and PostgreSQL production administration, backup and performance tuning.
• Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes with container lifecycle and networking.
• Scripting and automation in Python and PowerShell; Bash as a transferable skill.
• Git/GitHub usage for version control of scripts and config.
• Experience with service-management tools like Jira/ServiceNow; ITIL awareness not mandatory.
• Security principles: least privilege, credentials, secrets, MFA, patching, auditability.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of Service Operations to support enterprise infrastructure and production platforms, including health monitoring, issue resolution, proactive maintenance, resilience and continuous improvement.
• Administer, support and troubleshoot customer environments, including core infrastructure, storage, networking, IAM, compute, and managed services.
• Support Linux environments (Ubuntu/Red Hat); Windows support where required.
• Diagnose complex network connectivity issues across TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, TLS, proxies, load balancers, and cloud networking.
• Administer PostgreSQL production environments: configuration, permissions, monitoring, backup/restore, recovery and upgrades.
• Administer MongoDB production environments: health, logs, backup and recovery, upgrades.
• Support Docker/Kubernetes, container lifecycle, logging, networking, and health checks; cloud services (AWS EKS/ECS).
• Monitor infrastructure and applications using enterprise tools; investigate alerts and perform root-cause analysis.
• Use Python/PowerShell to automate tasks; leverage GitHub for code/version-control.
• Take ownership of incidents, problems, changes; participate in CAB; document playbooks and runbooks.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Data Services, Product, Delivery and cross-functional teams to deliver platform outcomes.
• Support backup, recovery, and DR exercises; participate in security and compliance activities.
