Job summary

Salsify is a leader in digital commerce infrastructure, spanning Portugal and the US. We’re seeking an Engineering Manager for Platform Engineering to lead a senior team that builds and maintains production infrastructure across Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS and our internal management platform.

Qualifications

• Experience managing engineers in infrastructure/ platform or SRE contexts.
• Protect a team's focus amid external requests without bottlenecks.
• Work with senior, opinionated engineers and challenge thinking respectfully.
• Translate technical trade-offs clearly for non-technical audiences.
• Comfort with ambiguity and change in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform and AWS.
• Experience with cloud cost management and vendor negotiation.
• Experience in security-conscious environments (SOC/ISO).
• Ability to manage across multiple timezones.

Responsibilities

• Runs production infrastructure across several platforms.
• Owns internal management platform (Go, Temporal, GraphQL).
• Manages security programmes in partnership with InfoSec.
• Delivers a roadmap including migrations, upgrades and cost reductions.
• Balance between roadmap work and reactive tasks in a multi‑timezone team.
• Represent infrastructure to product teams, leadership, and finance.
• Support team growth and maintain healthy team dynamics.
