Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a hands-on tech lead/manager to steer a new team responsible for the reliability and scalability of our cloud-based systems. You will mentor engineers, guide architectural decisions, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure.

The role requires strong leadership, 10+ years in software engineering, deep AWS/Kubernetes expertise, and a degree in a related field.

Qualifications

2+ years leading and inspiring a team of engineers with hiring, retention and performance management.
10+ years of software engineering experience with proven technical leadership and scalable, reliable solutions.
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proficient in agile software development and strong project management within timelines and constraints.
Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams and aligning efforts to goals.
Experience with Python or Go and backend development workflows.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic direction and set technical vision to raise reliability, scalability, and availability of our global infrastructure.
Collaborate with product management and other engineering teams to drive critical business initiatives and deliver with high quality.
Hands-on involvement to guide the team (coding, design reviews, root-cause analyses of production issues) while ensuring engineers have leadership support.
Build and lead the team through effective recruitment, mentoring, and leadership.
