Job summary

IPTA is seeking a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to install, configure, and manage virtualized systems ensuring data integrity, availability, and security. You will collaborate with leadership and the architect team to design virtualization strategies aligned with mission requirements and provide technical support for information systems components and infrastructure integration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
10 years of prior experience in a similar role.
DoD 8570 Level II/III certification desired.
VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization.
Proven work experience providing data center virtualization solutions.
Experience working in cloud environments.
Active Security Clearance required.

Responsibilities

Engineer, deploy, and support VMware ESXi, vCenter, and enterprise server infrastructure.
Engineer installation and maintenance of server hardware and the ESXi virtualization platform.
Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies into virtualization software solutions to enhance system performance and resource efficiency.
Evaluate virtualization solutions vigilantly to reduce system complexity while maintaining robust cybersecurity measures.
Support VMware technologies including vSAN, vROps, and NSX.
Monitor virtualization performance and resolve any issues.
Monitor tools that provide critical insights into workloads, depletion of resources, and peak loads of servers.
Assess network and server architecture for efficiency, improvements, or upgrades.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of the data center’s virtualization software, hypervisors, interfaces, layout, system, and processes.
