Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a seasoned technical writer to support the Product Content team. You will create guidance, tutorials, and best practices for platform development experiences, partnering with product managers, engineers, and developer experience teams to help customers deploy solutions on the platform.

You will gain hands-on experience with the same tools and technologies used by the audiences you support, mentoring other writers and contributing to the content strategy for a rapidly

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or higher in technical writing, technical communication, English, journalism, or rhetoric; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience authoring in DITA or XML-based structured authoring.
• Experience leading and mentoring writers in a fast-paced global software development environment.
• Familiarity with modern web development concepts and technologies including JavaScript, APIs, HTML, and CSS.
• Ability to read and explain code samples and technical designs.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers, engineers, designers, and developer experience teams to create guidance, tutorials, learning paths, and best practices.
• Build applications and prototypes to understand customer challenges.
• Develop content using modern web technologies to clarify development experiences.
• Translate complex technical concepts into actionable guidance for developers and administrators.
• Identify content gaps and continuously improve the customer learning journey.
• Plan, create, and maintain user-focused technical documentation aligned with content strategy.
• Contribute to future content strategy for the product or business unit.
• Evolve ServiceNow’s content development processes and writing standards.
