Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to lead the infrastructure-focused side of our platform engineering capability, spanning cloud, on-premise infrastructure and OT environments. You’ll design, build and improve core infrastructure platform services, ensuring they are reliable, secure and observable.

In this permanent, full-time hybrid role based in Lincoln, you’ll collaborate across IT, OT and delivery partners to reduce risk and drive automation with infrastructure-as-code.

Qualifications

• Strong platform engineering experience.
• Knowledge of cloud and on-prem infra patterns.
• Experience with automation and IaC.
• Experience in reliability, security and lifecycle outcomes.
• Awareness of CI/CD and containerisation for infra delivery.
• Experience with service management and governance.
• Experience leading engineers and delivery management.
• Security clearance or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build and continual improvement of secure, resilient infrastructure platform services across cloud, on-premise and OT.
• Own outcomes for reliability, security, performance, capacity, lifecycle and supportability.
• Define patterns, standards and automation pipelines for repeatable delivery.
• Drive IaC adoption and self-service across IT/OT environments.
• Translate requirements into platform solutions to reduce risk and improve resilience.
• Ensure observability, supportability, performance and security.
• Lead and coach team, foster accountability and inclusion.
• Manage outsourced partners to ensure quality and consistency.
